The types of waste (4): waiting and searching times

Everyone knows this from the private sector and tries to avoid it: waiting and searching times. It is not without reason that we make appointments with the doctor or office in the hope that it will be our turn without long waiting times. Things often look different in the office: We wait for the computer to start up, for the colleague’s documents, the information from controlling and much more. We often look for the data and information we need for our work: in the archive, in the central filing structure, in the intranet, in our mail archive, etc. The goal of lean administration is to significantly increase these waiting and search times to reduce. Numerous examples show that this can also be achieved with improved organizational structures.
